I've been contemplating dyeing my hair again...this time 'dip dyeing' it a little higher then bleaching the ends to make them even lighter, but I'm not sure, I've been wanting to do it for ages but still haven't done it so I probably won't. I bought these nails inc 'magnetic effect' polishes a while back and the results are pretty awesome, I love the colours they came in and it's so quick and easy to apply. This velvet patterened shirt has to be one of my favourite vintage shirts I've bought, I love the slouchy/loose-ness of it and at just £4 it was a pretty good deal. And it's velvet. The jacket in the last photo is one I love, but only worn once. It was an impulse buy and I didn't really think how I would wear it before buying it, I just knew I had to buy it...and finally my Levi's jacket and badges. I've acculumated quite a few badges from with vintage fairs/markets and my mum's old ones, my personal favourite being one of a gold Egyptian bird god (?) on a podium.

I've been listening to The Courteeners again quite a lot recently, mainly on the bus to and from school, good stuff.

Today Aimee and I went to Portobello Market and High Street Kensington for some vintage and high street shopping therapy. I bought 2 vintage leather bags, one in these photos and the other a mini leather drawstring bag which is the perfect size to lug around my camera (seeing as the 3 I've bought for it are-albeit pretty to look at- all boxy= really impractical. le sigh.) I love the shape of the bag in thses photos, the rounded shape is quite a quirky detail and I love the smell of it. That vintage smell...it may sound weird but I love walking into a vintage shop and just smelling...vintage...just me? I also bought a metal necklace from h&m and a vintage burgundy speckled jacket with anchor buttons (I know) for £2 (I know). I'm currently lounging around in it, it's a weird shape as it's a mens jacket but it's super comfy.

I have 6 mock AS exams coming up next week and no time this weekend to revise. Exams + no revision = inevitable panic in the mornings. I planned to do some during the christmas break but never got around to doing it. Why do I always do this?? I hope my parallel self in a parallel universe is doing better at this. My mind drifts a lot. Le sigh.

There's something about the word 'revision' that makes my brain shut down and find something less important and unproductive to do, and right now it's making cups of honey and lemon (I sound like voldemort) and trying to justify having not done any during the christmas break. New purchases this month include several cds and dvds from a recent HMV splurge (late christmas present...for myself) , an old Agatha Christie edition I found in a vintage book store, finally a new winter coat and this No.7 'Totally Teal' nail polish. No.7 is probably my favourite brand for nail polishes, but at £7 each I don't buy them that often, but when I saw this colour I couldn't not get it. I've also been buying quite a few random decorations/ ornaments for my room, and I've got my eye on a few Rob Ryan designs to plaster all over my wall. And more dreamcatchers. I love dreamcatchers.

Hey lovelies, I am always the first up on christmas day, despite having 2 younger sisters-I get up at around 5am every year, wake everyone up, then sit around listening to fairytale of new york whilst waiting for them to actually get up. Yes yes, I am that annoyingly overexcitable person in every family who gets up at crazy o'clock for christmas...

Anyways I'm off out now so have a guilt-free-chocolafied-christmas and an awesome new year! I'll leave you with this beauty of a song from Various Cruelties, they're an awesome band, you might have heard their single 'Chemicals' earlier on in the year, awesome new band fo' 2012!!

On tuesday Aimee and I headed to Winter Wonderland which is da place 2 b in London during the Christmas holidays. We went around the christmas market taking photos of everything (like typical Asian tourists-way to reinforce a stereotype), ate churros, listened to the weird mixes of Christmas songs, and took in the wonderful aromas of cinnamon, mulled wine and bbq. wait what. (they had sausages.)
We bavardé over gingerbread lattes in Starbucks for lunch then took the train and walked up 197 steps to Convent Garden (note to self: you need to get fit.) then walked to Charing Cross Road to check out the awesome book stores there. We spent ages browsing through shelves of unorganised piles of vintage books finding little gems of French books and old editions of classics. I think I've actually spent more time in those shops than actual shops recently, which is a bit sad, but it's quite addictive.

I got this leather rucksack quite a while ago and I've been using it endlessly these past few weeks, and its falling apart but I keep using it because I love it. My mum has told me to throw it away, but I'm too reluctant to throw things away, especially vintage things, and I think that's the reason for the load of crap I've accumulated over the years...

In the last post I mentioned seeing The Drums last week, and they were pretty much one of my favourite bands I've seen live. I processed the photos the other day (total rip off-£6 to process them-and the camera was £3) but I'm not too bothered because it was awesome. They're just effortlessly cool-and well dressed! The rolled up jeans, the shirt, the hair ahhh perfection.

I finished school at 11.40 today, and the 3 lessons I had were just watching elf/singing christmas songs/eating chocolate, can't complain really. Soooo finally its the christmas break!! I'm going Portobello Market and Oxford St tomorrow for some last minute christmas shopping-9 DAYZ GUISE.

Hey guise, Aimee and I went to the Natural History museum in South Kensington on sunday (it's so lovely there, I'd love to live there one day, the houses and balconies are so pretty...). Being a huge nerd I kinda love dinosaurs, they're awesome. I still have a little collection of fossils and books from when I was about 8 and I've been reluctant to throw them away. After, we just wondered around the streets and took awesome jumping shots, which you have to admit, are always super fun. Needless to say a few people walked past like wtf why are you jumping, but we carried on anyway. Also, I went to Winter Wonderland, which was absolutely fantabulous. Christmas music, christmas lights, and christmas food. YES PLEASE. I recommend going. Let out your inner kid. You know you want to.

So today I had a day off school, went shopping and spent more than I should have in hmv seeing as I'm 'saving up', and lazed around at home and watched Moulin Rouge whilst eating chocolate truffles my mum made. nomnomnom.

I couldn't resist taking some photos by in my garden amongst all the leaves, the colours are all so lovely and make autumn my favourite time of year. I didn't really do much today, just lazed around the house and went sainsburys (totes living the high life) and drank tea. I'm going to South Kensington with Aimee tomorrow to go round the V&A/Natural History museum area which should be awesome...as long as it doesn't rain...it probably will.

British bands really are the best.

Hello lovlies, hope you're all well and smiling, it's been getting colder and colder here in London, and I've been wearing cosy jumpers practically every day, this one being my current favourite. It's a rusty orangey colour, it's so autumny, I love it! However walking to school it got caught on branches and it's already starting to pill and bobble.

It's past mid-november already, so with christmas apporaching, I've already started to buy christmas decorations for my room (I like to start early...). This year, I want my room to look like a magical fairy cave (mature, right) with an abundance of candles and fairy lights and tinsel. I found these cute rustic metal and glass candle holders the other day which I plan to dot all around my room without creating too big a fire hazard.

MEET MY NEW BABY

On saturday I went to Portobello market with my cousins and picked up this little gem. I've been looking for a camera bag for a while now, before I was just using a vintage vanity box which was super impractical as it was so awkward to hold, so when I saw this one I just had to get it. It was £15 which is pretty good seeing as it's super cute and I love the colour, the woman selling it to me carried on telling me it was from the 50s etc, but I didn't really need much encouragement to buy it as I was pretty set on it from the moment I saw it...It still doesn't have a long strap, so I would still have to carry it by the handle, but I don't mind because I love it!

Today I went to portobello market with my cousins, as you can see from the photos it's been raining recently, although luckily it didn't today which is always good as the best stalls always close whenever it rains. We had lunch at Garden and Grill which is as awesome restaurant, it does an amazing pad thai...yum. After a whole day wrestling through the crowds and sharing (the best) cupcake and a brownie, I came home with some pretty awesome purchases which I will show you guys sometime.

I bought this skirt in the last vintage kilo sale I went to with Aimee a few weeks ago in Brick Lane (post here), it's so fun to wear and swishes as I walk, which I love because, you know, I'm 5. I've been wearing this jumper endlessly this past week, it makes school a little less dull. Albeit the cold weather, I feel drawn to bright colours, I don't know why, I just guess I don't really adapt to seasonal changes, I think I dress pretty much the same all year round...

Hello hello, apologies for the tired expression in the first photo and bad lighting in these photos, I took them quickly before school. I got this blouse back in the summer from a charity shop for £1, and it's one of my favourite blouses to wear, there are ladies in bikinis and umbrellas printed on them which I thought was pretty awesome. I've been pretty good at procrastinating recently, putting off my work and instead putting my energy into making my room really neat, I've turned into a neat freak, it's worrying. I've put my books in height order and CDs (yes I still buy cds) and DVDs in order according to genre.

I'm so happy it's november already, I was walking home the other day and it was about 4ish, and the sun was peeping through the trees, half bare with it's golden leaves scattered around them, it was so beautiful. Talking of beautiful things, Florence and the machine's new album is bliss. I downloaded it when it leaked a few days before it's release and it's been on repeat 24/7 (actually about 15/3 but you get the gist)...

Weather in London is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get (those who haven't seen forrest gump...haven't lived). Aimee and I went to the vintage kilo sale in Brick Lane on saturday, it seemed quite cold in the morning so I decided to wear my fur coat, not knowing that it would turn into ok-to-wear-just-a-cardigan weather, although it was pretty stupid on my part to wear a fur coat to a vintage sale, which always gets pretty crowded, especially when carrying around piles of clothes...lesson learnt. However autumn is my favourite season, I love the toasted colours of the trees the evenings when it's just beginning to get dark, bliss. I wish it would get colder. As it was a saturday, the usual stalls weren't open so we just went into the usual vintage shops and another vintage kilo sale, and was approached by a dodgy looking man who watched us take outfit photos, then advised us on how to take them...which we gave an awkward smile to and carried on.

I customised by shirt collar with 2 photo frame edges I bought the other day by just attaching them on with some plyers, really simple to do and it gave my shirt a cute little detail. Half term is over, and on monday I'm back to the school routine. This year has gone by so quick, before long it's Christmas and NYE, my absolute favourite few weeks of the year; I can't wait.

Yo yo yiggidy yo, y'all.

New outfit photo location...for today, I pulled my sister out of bed to take these photos, she refused to go outside in her pjs, so fair do's, and anyway, you can see my hamburger bean bag this way.

I had another mini wardrobe clear out, and found this jacket I bought in the summer from a charity shop. The shape of it is pretty weird, and when I sit down the sleeves balloon, which you know, is very attractive as you can imagine.I wore this to Brick Lane yesterday, I bought a few more jumpers and a blazer, lunched, and was tempted to buy a super cheap rug with pop art minis on it, of course deciding against it after realising it would have to be carried on the train home. And was twice my size. Recently it's been getting colder in London so I've finally been able to start wearing my chunky knits and cardigans at school. Teamed with my bobble hat and scarf, I make the perfect human snowball. or should I say...snowwool. I made a funny. It's ok if you didn't laugh. *dies inside*

Sup brah.

I've had so much work from school and haven't really had enough time to fit any posts in, a levels are sucking up my social life, and I've been housebound this past week. I should be writing my english lit essay right now, but Rossetti poems have really become the bane of my existance. I spend most weeknights either doing piles of work due for the next day or curled up in bed on my own with a Hitchcock movie and my duvet. I iz so funz.

On sunday I went up London with Aimee to (finally) check out the Monki store in Selfridges, which I was super excited about, I had only read about Monki on other blogs and from the magazine which is the cutest thing ever, and so I couldn't wait to visit it. It was quite small but had a lovely selection there and hopefully they will open a bigger store soon. Surprisingly for the past few days it's been sooo hot here in London, probably making up for the sun in the summer which was, well, non existent. I'm still wearing autumnal colours nontheless, I'm like purple right now. And fushia. Maybe together. Like candy. I'm kinda hoping the heat will go and cold briskness of autumn to come along, I love wrapping up and wearing huge chunky jumpers and coats and the cosiness and warmth. And this year, I'll be whipping out the bobble hat. Yee boy. Way cool.

Top of the mornin' to ya. Well it's the evening so top of the evein' to ya. Doesn't really sound as good though does it...

So yesterday I started sixth form, and I was pretty nervous as I'm starting at a new school and was worried I'd be that girl sitting on the toilet eating her ham sandwiches at lunch, but luckily I wasn't and I love it! Partially because I don't even like ham and does that even happen apart from in films? I was actually looking forward to leaving behind the subjects I have no interest in (science, good riddance) and just studying the ones I actually enjoy, I'm taking english lit, textiles, french and maths, well I don't enjoy maths but I find it quite easy so thought why not. I love that the classes just have people who geniunely want to do well in the subject rather than some people who mess about and don't really bother. Spoken like a true nerd.

On a non-school note, these are just some sketches I did quite a while back over the summer as I was just experimenting with different skecthing styles (mostly the face-or-no-face debate). I prefer drawing in pen because it's less 'scratchy' and not as clean, and I think it makes them a little more...3D?

So, another school year is starting, anyone else starting sixth form/college/uni? Hope you are all well!

Salut beautiful people. Just soaking up the London sun, and cool summer breeze, jk, it's freezing and I'm wearing a super thick jumper. C'est la vie. A quick update today, Aimee and I are going to Brighton tomorrow (insert:excited face) which is going to be super awesome (weather permitting). I've got lots of summer work to ~~complete~~ start in the next few days and I'm going back to school next week! Crazay.

Feel like a tourist lost in the suburbs

Hello sweets :) I came back from a few days in St Malo, by the coast of France and it was super fun.We arrived early in the morning so had breakfast as soon as we got there, I had a hot chocolate and my god I swear everything tastes better over these because it was SO GOOD. For the whole of the first day we just explored the area around our hotel, and although it was quite small there was so much to see. Being me, I got all excited over the cobbled streets and cute shops signs and was taking photos of everything (we were tourists, it's gotta be done duh) and tried lots of sweet foods from the stalls there.Then in the evening we walked along the beach and watched the sunset, which was so beautiful. It was more like a colour spectrum of orangey-red to blue from the sea to the sky rather than the sunset.

Fun fact: I'm a morning person. Well not so fun, but it's a fact. So when I'm on holiday, I get up super early and watch the sunrise, I'm a sucker for sunrises and sunsets, they're so so beautiful. Add the crisp sunrise to the gentle waves of the beach 5 minutes from my hotel and I'll get up pretty early to see it.

We also went to Mont St Michel and Dinard, which are both really picturesque places; the views are amazing.Oh, and of course the food there was yumz. Fresh seafood and the best frigging pecan tart I've ever tasted?! Yes Please.

On a different note, the summer holidays are coming to a close, it's gone so quick and it's hard to believe I've left school and going into sixth form. At least I don't have to wear a uniform anymore, glad to leave that part behind. However I'm not looking forward to seeing people wearing just t-shirts and almost see through leggings so their arse is fully on show, whats with that? Pull yourself together people, purlease.

I also got my GCSE results last week, which I'm so happy about, so glad they're over, now, a-levels.

Flash delirium

Hi lovely readers, hope you guys are all well and smiling! I'm at a hotel near somewhere near the north at the moment, as my family and cousins are going to Alton Towers tomorrow, which I'm super excited about as I am a big kid inside, as we all are right? Anyway I'm making most of the free wi-fi here and drinking free mugs of tea. Yumz, cheap thrills. My sister and I had a little walk around the golf course, meaning running around the fields and taking many a photo.

I would like to express my love for this little blazer, I don't know if it comes out well but the colour is a bright fuchsia and it's awesome and floaty, which I luuurve as it's super fun to wear and spin around in. It was my mum's, and I found it as I was clearing out my room the other day, I was pretty ecstatic when I found it, I love the little treasures my mum had from years ago.

A few weeks ago my friends and I went to Underage festival in Victoria Park, which was awesome. The best performances for me were Viva Brother, Wolfgang, Miles Kane, Bombay Bicycle Club and The Midnight Beast, and we also saw Annie and Sissy from The Model Agency, which they should totes make a new series of, I loved that show.

I'm off to st Malo in France next week too so the nest few weeks will be pretty busy but I'll try and keep this little blawg updated. I'll reply to comments and catch up on all your blogs when I get back, thanks for all the new followers and your lovely comments, I appreciate them all :)

I watch the TV, forget what I'm told

Summer is officially here, as confirmed by the beautiful weather we've had for the past few days here in London and the glorious smell of BBQs as you walk down the street. Today my family and I went to a Thai festival where there was delicious spicy curries and sweet sweet confectioneries, and a lady hand crafting amazing sculptures out of pieces of fruit. It was a great day out, I love learning about different cultures and trying out new foods from different countries.

For those who have read my blog before, you would probably know that I recently dyed my hair, but now the colour's fading, so I need to re-dye it. Stat. Oh, and I have 3 more piercings! One more lobe on one ear and 2 new cartiledge piercings, my friends pierced them which surprisingly hurt less than having it done at a shop, well that's what I thought anyway. I'll post a photo sometime. Ever since getting my 2nd piercing, I've wanted more, they're addictive, and now I have 8.

Oh, and what's this? I GOT A NEW CAMERA!! It's a Canon 550d, and I looove it, I've spent the last few days taking photos of random things around the house and took it out on it's first outing today. It's my new baby. Say hai to camera! Camera says hi.

So my sister's summer holidays have just started, but I've been out of school for about 2 months already now, so it's like a prolonged summer, which is awesome, I'm not complaining. I've spent most of my days lazing around the house, going out, then coming home to watch Only Fools And Horses, because I clearly have a thrilling life.*insert: sarcasm*.

Yes I have worn these jeans too much lately and yes I know it is technically summer now (I say 'technically' as recently the weather has been rainy and windy and cold. Thanks London.), but I like them. So I vill vear zem.

I bought this blazer in a charity shop the other day for £5, and although I already have quite a lot of blazers, I had to get it because the blazers I have are usually either oversized or mens blazers with the shoulders stooping halfway down my arm, and this blazer was a perfect fit, and was the right length so I couldn't put it down. The last few days have been pretty busy. On monday, Aimee and I went to London for a job hunt, then on wednesday I got up early to go to Camden, then to Aimee's to....dip dye our hair! Then I left to go to my cousin's house to stay over and go to x factor auditions the next day. A lot of travelling. These photos were taken by Aimee on monday, and I think the total cost for that outfit was about £8, oh I do love a good bargain. Wait wha- dip dye? yee boy. I wanted to dip dye my hair pink, so I had to bleach it first because my hair is so dark, but the dye came out so intense and I applied the bleach too high, so you can see a peek of the bleach above the pink dye, which I didn't really like at first, but ah well, life goes on. We went to Camden really early to buy Manic Panic hair dye but Cyberdog was closed so we panicked a little then headed to Superdrug and settled with the small selection they had to offer.I wasn't that happy with the result, and next time I probably won't use the same dye or leave it on as long. Ah wells. I've put it in a plait because it's less as bright, and sorry for the god awful photo, I was pretty tired.

Hello beautiful people. It's been lovely and sunny in London lately *insert Chandler dance in your imagination here*, I guess July is making up for the lack of sun in June. So today I decided to take my sister shopping, then to the high street for some charity shops and lunch. Despite the hot weather, I found an amazing maxi length coat, which I can't wait to wear this autumn/winter. I always find myself buying coats at the wrong time of the year, but I'm not complaining because I love them all *hypothetically hugs coats*.

I found this blazer in a charity shop for £1 and I just love the colour and the shape, it's also super fun to wear because the shoulder pads are curved and fantabulously huge (although neither I or my camera really do it justice).

In other news, I had my year 11 prom on friday, and it was awesome. It was great to see the whole year together for the last time and everyone looked amazing, can't believe that secondary school is officially over! The past 5 years have flown by, and it's sad to leave all my closest friends and it will be weird not seeing my friends everyday after half a decade, its like the end of an era! (another friends ref, second in one post, I'm on a roll!) Unfortunately my prom dress arrived late so I had to go with a second outfit, but I wasn't too fussed over it as many other people were, I still had a great time.

Burning at the loose threads

A few weeks ago I went to my auntie's wedding, and if there is anything I love it's a June wedding with sun, crisp breezes and-oh wait, no. It rained. However luckily we managed to squeeze in the outdoor photos inbetween the short spurts of rain. So typical of London weather to be sunny one minute then suddenly pour down with rain. For most of the day I was trying not go get the bottom of my skirt wet whilst also trying not to trip over it because the threads at the bottom kept getting caught on my shoes, which made it pretty hard to walk up the stairs fast enough to catch up with everyone else who were trying to get out the rain which was hard for me as I was in freaking 5 inch platforms. All in all it was a super day with great food, and 2 amazing cakes.

Lately I've been wearing blouses quite a lot, expecially when I'm at home I just throw on a blouse and wear them with rolled up jeans, in fact thats what I'm wearing right now. I found this top in debenhams when I was looking for a fathers day present. I don't usually shop there but I spotted this blouse from the other side of the shop floor and it caught my eye. I wasn't going to buy it, as it was about £30 which is a little expensive for me for a blouse, but I was shopping with my mum and she bought it for me! We don't usually shop together because I'm more of a lone shopper (I take ages in shops and spend ages deciding on whether to buy something or not so people usually have to wait for me), and it's easier to just shop on my own. I love the cute peter pan collar and the sleeves are puffy and awesome, however it's alway see through, so I had to wear a top underneath.

The other day I went to my cousin's for her 23rd birthday, she made so many cupcakes and they were SO GOOD, we had so many. Man it was like cupcake ecstasy.

Hello munchkins.

Hope you are all well and smiling :) My exams finished on wednesday, so I'm freeee! As a bird. Kinda. I'me so relieved to have finished my gcses, and looking back they went quite fast, except next year I will be taking my A-levels, which is quite daunting, as it only seemed a few years ago when I was young and thought that even my gcses were 'donkeys years away'. I'm taking english lit, french, textiles and maths if anyone was wondering...Also I'll be leaving my current school to go to a new sixth form, which is a big worry for me, seeing as I'm really shy when it comes to new people, but a new start is always exciting to me.

I've planned this summer to be a creative and money making one. I'll be letting out my interior-designer part of me for my new room, with the additional help from ikea pages 152-153 and 137. I'm looking for a job to buy a new dslr camera, which I'm in desperate need of at the moment. I'm currently using my mum's camera and they photos don't really come out too well, and plus there are really annoying date and time numbers in the corner, which I can't remove as that I'm not techno savvy and can't figure it out.

Oh, on another note, I did my orange rockcorps project in my local area recently, which was pretty awesome. My group painted a building for a scout group, and it was fun, and even more fun getting paint all over my clothes, now I have jeans covered in paint to remember as a little memoir to the day.

I bought this hat a few days ago in Tiger, which is an awesomely fantabulous shop if you've never been to one. I used to go to one near my aunties house up north london, so when I found out they opened a new store at my local shopping centre I was pretty happy :D The things they sell are completely random and super cheap, and I got this hat for a tiny tiny £3! I made this necklace from a springy toy I bought in Prague years back and thought it would add a fun element. Plus she's super cute.

I'm probably rambling on now, so thats all folks! (anyone remember watching Looney Tunes as a child and Bugs Bunny used to say thats all folks at the end?...no?)

Couple of weeks ago, Aimee and I headed to Brick Lane and a vintage fair in Spitafields Market, then I gave her a little tour around where I live, and by tour, I mean we went on the high street and checked out some charity shops there... The vintage fair was not as big as the ones in Bethnal Green, but was still awesome, and I bought the box/bag I'm holding in the photos. I spent quite a while deciding on whether to buy it, as I'm saving up for a dslr camera, but Aimee suggested I could use it as a camera bag/box, so I figured that was enough to justify the purchase and I bought it (thanks Aimee! :D ) It was £10 and I got it for £6 saving me a super £4 towards my camera fund. Win. And Aimee also bought a camera bag for £10, and it is sooo lovely, it is red inside and had animal hair inside, but we brushed it off and now Aimee looks totally awesome with her awesome camera bag. My box/bag was kind of awkward to carry around though, it didnt have a strap, so most of the day I was carrying it under my arm withouth knowing, which looked a little awkward...After we headed to a few charity shops around my area, Aimee bought another bag and I nearly bought a suitcase but bought a mini cooper instead, which was probably one of my most random purchases. Then we did some baking, and if you follow our twittererers, you would probably know how it turned out...if not, just guess. Clue: we totally burnt it.

I've cleared out my room recently too, ready for when I move into my new room which is so much bigger than my current room, which I'm quite excited about. Can't wait to be rid of this faded yellow carpet. Yes, yellow. I really want a clean white minimalistic room, but given the fact that I have so much crap in my room, that won't happen, so I guess I would just have to take the 'car-boot-sale-like-random-junk-everywhere' theme into the new room. *sighs*

Oh, and for some summer music, check out Little Comets, they have been around for a few years and they're pretty awesome.

Don't be fooled by the sun in these photos, it rained straight after I took these photos...

These outfit photos are pretty bad but they were the only ones I took because as I was taking the photos on timer it dropped, fell into a puddle and broke. I desperately tried to retrieve it, but failed. Moral of the story: invest in a tripod so I don't have to balance camera on dodgy bench arm. The last photo came out really bright for some reason but I didn't bother to edit it because I'm too lazy for editing, unless I'm bored, and I thought it came out quite awesome. Didn't notice the hose was in the photos either, but let's just pretend that was intentional.

I bought this maxi from topshop last week, and I don't usually buy many things from topshop because they're quite expensive, and I prefer cheaper alternatives from vintage and charity shops etc, but I couldn't resist this skirt. The colour was vibrant and the material is silkly soft...I'm now looking for bright shirt to try out some colour blocking teamed up with these babies...They didn't have my size when I first found them but now they do! Made my day.

This post is just a little collection of random photos I found on my laptop, I'll make a better post soon, I have a few posts lined up, including another video with the wonderful Aimee! It's a little different from the previous videos...exciting stuff huh?

Ths song is an acoustic of Pegasus Bridge-Ribena, which I have been listening to lots lately, I had heard a few of their songs last year but never really listened to them, then I bought their album last week and I looove it! Recommend it! And yes, I bought it, rather than downloading it, because I prefer to have a physical copy than just digitial music...probably one of the few who buys the majority of music as CDs, seeing as we're now living in the 'techno generation'....lets keep the CD ALIVE people! And also I absolutely love acoustics, love them.

Today I started a volunteer job in a charity shop, which was actually quite fun. As someone who loves rummaging through general 'old stuff', spending the day in the back of a charity shop overflowing with general 'old stuff' was perfect for me. As I was sorting through the donations I kept a little pile of finds for me to buy later...they were pretty hard to resist...

On saturday I'm doing my Orange Rockcrops project, which I'm pretty excited about. Haven't really done anything like that before so it should be an interesting experience, looking forward to it!

Also, I can't wait for my exams to be over, although I only have 2 left, as this summer is going to be gooood! I'm going camping with a few friends, getting my new room and I've planned to go Brighton and hit the car boot sales with Aimee, it's gonna be an awesome summer.

Cath Kidston Winter Meadow Regular Tote Bag

A few days ago I came home to a beautifully wrapped package and was excited to find this gorgeous Cath Kidston tote bag.

Cath Kidston Ltd was founded in 1993 when designer Cath Kidston opened a tiny shop in London’s Holland Park. She began by selling the vintage fabrics, wallpapers and brightly-painted junk furniture she remembered fondly from her childhood. Her clever, witty re-working of traditional English country house style meant that her shop soon became a cult success.

I absolutely love the trademark floral prints and the colours make it versitile and easy to match.

Good points:
Hard wearing, sturdy bag that is the perfect size to fit everything I need with pockets both inside and outside which are perfect for storing oyster cards, ipod, phone etc... The material is strong so is able to carry the weight of magazines, books etc which makes it ideal for long journeys and even as a small weekend bag (if you travel light!) AND, of course its super cute!

Bad points:
When I carried it on my shoulder, I found that the bottom of the bag rested awkwardly on my hip and stuck out which make it a little uncomfortable. Also the bag is open, so I would have preferred a zip along the top to keep it closed.

Overall I think this bag is ideal for the summer, and winter, and spring, ok all year round, so I recommend you head over to the Cath Kidston website and check out their wide range of tote bags and sport one of these gorgeous bags too!

Muchos apologies for the late post, but it's here! There has been so many bank holidaysand days off that I just go about the day not knowing what day it actually is, until today when I came to the realisation that I have school tomorrow, which means completing homework and revision tonight. Of course. It's the student way. Friday 29th April marked the wedding of 'Kate & Wills' and unless one has been living under a rock, you have probably been hearing about it 24/7, so I won't go into that, and I'll just say HOW BEAUTIFUL DID KATE LOOK?! After much speculation beforehand, it was revealed she wore McQueen for the ceremony and in the evening. If only we were all so lucky.

Above are snaps from another outing in the easter holidays with the fantabulous Aimee of Peardrops and Polkadots, but you already know that. We took soo many photos and I was considering making 2 posts, but decided against that and cut them down, which wasn't easy. If you follow us on twitter (nudge.hint.follow....if you want) you would probably have read our documenting tweets. The day started with a boat trip along the Thames, au lieu taking the bus because buses are boring no? The weather was sunny and ideal for the boat trip and after we marched through a German tourist group to M&S to grab a bite for a picnic in Greenwich park. I say sunny, but it was still pretty windy, but the clouds made for some awesome photos. Next was the National Martime Museum because it was close and we had time to kill. You know 'Where's Wally'? Well we found the guy who stole his hat.

In many ways they'll miss the good old days

Last week, Aimee and I hit the Vintage Kilo Sale in Brick Lane. Sun was shining as it has been this whole holiday, maybe it's a little too hot. But I don't want to jinx it, hope it stays sunny. Touch wood. Seeing as it was my first kilo sale, I didn't know what to expect, but I wasn't disappointed with the vast amount of items there. There were bundles of clothes piled up after being discarded, and I don't know if it's just me, but I love rummaging through to the bottom in the search of something that catches my eye. We got a lot for our money, as it was only £15 a kilo, so I work out each item I bought to be just over £2 each! You'll see our purchases soon in the next 'Day of fun' video! I took my sister to Brick Lane too, she's only 11, and she's starting to read some of the blogs bookmarked on my laptop, and I love that she's taking an interest in them!

In other news...did anyone go Coachella?! I missed most of the live streaming, but caught up on The Strokes, because they are the best and I love them. Here's one of my favourite clips...

Oh, and happy good friday! Easter weekend's here, which means eating too much chocolate without needing to justify yourself...we'll hit the gym 'tomorrow'.

Hello beautiful readers! It's been 6 long days since I last posted, I've been so busy with catching up on coursework and revising for May/June exams coming up soon, but of course I've taken some time out to make a new post!

The easter holidays are here! Easter holiday = 2 weeks off school = only a few weeks left until study leave :) Happy days.

Although I don't have school, I have so much more revision to do, the first day back, I have a french speaking assessment about holidays. I'm sure that these phrases I'm learning will come in handy at some point in the near future, for example:

In France somewhere

Frenchman: Bonjour, ça va? (Hello, how are you?)

Me: Si possible, dans l'avenir, je désirerais voyager en Afrique. (If possible, in the future I would love the travel to Africa.)

The shirt I'm wearing was a last minute DIY I made in the morning, then continued to make more of when I got home. I cut the sleeves off an old shirt then scalloped the hem and added a denim patch onto the pocket later. A pretty simple DIY and I quite like the result!

I remember a time when I used to wear hairbands every day, leaving undesirable marks imprinted across my forehead and kinks in my hair for the rest of the day. Said time was only about 2 years ago. Ok one, but I thought I might give them a little outing seeing as the weather is starting to resemble 'british summers', and by that I mean sometimes-relatively-sunny-days-compared-to-the-generally-miserable-weather-we-get-here-in-London weather. You know what I mean.

These past few weeks have been quite demanding in terms of coursework deadlines at school etc, but on a positive note, it's the start of an extended easter holiday next week, which means 2 weeks off and the Royal wedding bank holiday, so yep, good times :)

In other news, I want to say a BIG thank you to my followers, reading your comments and checking out all your blogs make my day :) I started blogging a couple of years ago, but back then it was more of a personal blog, until British ELLE July 2009 issue with Winona Ryder and a free Urban Outfitters summer tote (yes, I remembered all that, that magazine has sentimental value) opened my eyes to a whole fabulous new world.

Last week I recieved an email asking if I could make a video on the DIY earring I posted about here. I was asked if I could make it with crosses instead of feathers, but I don't have any crosses, so I'm using little charms I bought a while back instead. The video quality was pretty bad so I decided it would be better to use photos, and plus, I hate my 'recorded voice'...(sorry if the instructions aren't too clear, if you have any question drop me a comment or email :) )

I've worn this skirt so many times, I just love the colour and the pleats.Before I found it, I was searching for a perfect midi skirt, but although ones from topshop and ASOS etc are so so pretty, they don't come cheap, so being a bit of a bargain-sucker, I was so happy to have found this one in a charity shop! Being short (I've been about 5ft 4 for the past like, 3 years, so yeah, I'm expecting a growth spurt any time now), the skirt nearly comes down to my ankles, and I've been meaning to take the up an inch or two (or three...), but I have a strange reluctance to cut, alter or sew vintage clothes...

In other news, I've started using tumblr again! I went through a few weeks last year during a half term when I would reblog endlessly, and I was totally addicted, then the phase passed...BUT BABY IT'S BACK! (ahem, yep, so check it out chicks ;) This is a link to my tumblr page

I MAKE MYSELF LOL.

mum's old shirt, vintage shorts, new look brogues

As promised, I've posted, however I couldn't post what I wore yesterday because it accidently deleted all the photos, well all but one (below), but it wasn't the most exciting outfit anyway..I just wore a load of necklaces, some of which I made, others bought from various different places. Not the best idea wearing it with the netted top, as both get caught on everything, seriously, nearly every door I past at home my sleeve gets caught on it and it pulls me back...(you know what I mean right? Pretty sure I'm not the only that'd happened to...)

Today I pretty much stayed at home, so thought I should do some much needed revision for the exams I have in May and June, but ended up watching Glory Daze episodes again because they're awesome and make me LOL. Then had a yoghurt for lunch because when no one's in, I'm too lazy to cook for myself...even a bowl of cereal is too much effort to drag me away from my laptop. I'm pretty much a couch potato, but in bed. A bed potato. After a good few hours I took some outfit photos becuase it's suuuuunny outside, so beautiful. BRING ON SUMMER. YEYAH.

OH. Almost forgot. This shirt was an awesome find from my mum's old stuff, I was surprised to find a whole load of disney clothes actually, maybe it was a phase she went through...When I tried it on, I just had to wear it with stripy shorts, took me a while to find these shorts though, seeing as I haven't worn them for so long.

So want this for the summer...oh piggy bank. Y U SO EMPTY?! *shakes*

100th post!

Hello lovely people. I haven't posted in so long, but I'm promising another post either on friday or saturday, as I have a non-uniform day on friday for comic relief (which was last week I know, but my school decided to have it a week late). Since last posting, I've been been busy turning 16, tackling a monster pile of coursework and turning 16. THAT'S RIGHT. I'M 16 (and 13 days). That delish calorific strawberry and dark chocolate concoction was created by my auntie, who actually made 2 other cakes too, becuase she's fab (don't worry, they were shared amongst about 40 people...).

I also got 3 new piercings last week! I got a snug piercing and 2nd lobes, which were pretty much a late minute decision. I love love love them, the cartilage was pretty painful, but it was only expected, and totally worth that 5-second pain.

If you follow my twitter, you would probably read a lot of music related tweets, and seeing as the new album from The Strokes, my favourite band ever, was released this week, and news of The Strokes headling reading, I thought I would add my favourite EVER Strokes song...
I thought this album was a different sound from their previous albums, and didn't like it as much as their older stuff, but if you havent' already, check it out! It's totally worth a listen.

Slowly strolling in the sweet sunshine

The lyrics in the title are totally relevant to this post in 2 ways. Firstly, they are from 'New Shoes' by Paolo Nutini, and in this outfit I'm wearing the new wedges I bought last week, and also, the sun is shining as I write this post! It's still not hot, but I'll settle for sun for now, albeit the chilly-ness. The window is open in my room, and I'm cold, but the sun is shining through and so a lovely summer is looking hopeful, though judging by the past few miserable summers, I still have my doubts...

I bought this vintage jumper at the vintage fair in Bethnal Green a few weeks ago when I with the fabulously awesome Aimee, and a post should be up about that soon. And the next addition to our 'series', which clearly, you're all itching to see right?! *insert winking face* I was in 2 minds about buying this jumper, seeing as I'm saving up for a camera, but gave into my (lack of) willpower, and I bought it. And another one. They were both £5, a damn right bargainous (word copyright:Aimee) deal. I'm kind of in love with the print, which I love to clash with a plethory of sparkly and shiny brooches, and the hues of deep blues. I practically wear this skirt with everything, and you may have noticed (stop stalking me), but it goes with everything and I just throw it on without thinking now.

These shoes are a birthday present (ahem, birthday in 3 days...mark in your hypothetical calendars guyzz ;) from ebay. I heart ebay. I <3 ebay. I love ebay. They came early, so I couldn't resist taking them out for an outing when I went to dinner with some friends. Surprisingly they're so comfy and easy to wear and didn't give my feet any trouble or pain, not even walking all the way to my friend's house, so now they will be permenantly attached to my feet, even at home. It's funny because you think I'm lying.

DIY: 5, no, 2 minute ring

You're probably getting a little bored of this cardigan...well I'm not, I love it so much I could marry it. Ha, I'm kidding...or am I?

I made these rings after taking these metal wine caps home becuase I thought they would be an awesome cause for an easy little DIY. As stated in the title, this takes literally 2 minutes, and you only need 2 things!

1. Metal wine cap

2. Plyers

Steps:

1. Use plyers to unhook the inner metal loop

2. Wind the wires around the opposite wire to make 2 rings, adjusting to make it whatever size.

Et voila mes cheries!

NOTE: The metal may dig in a bit, so it would be useful to make it loose so it doesn't cut you whenever you move your fingers!

MYBK: Multicolour Yarn Big Knit

I've been living in this cardigan, I love it so much! I bought it in Portobello Market, you can see the post here, and it's been my favourite addition to my wardrobe from the past week. I'm a sucker for little details, and the multicoloured yarns are visible when you look at it close up, which is what I think makes it that little bit more special. Plus, it was only £2! Most definately an awesome bargain!

On saturday, I headed out to Covent Garden with my friend Chloe, who I haven't seen in...forever, although originally we were going to go to the Natural History museum (because we're huge nerds like that, and I also love dinosaurs...I'm not kidding), but the queue was too long for a rainy London day, especially when surrounded with confused tourists clutching roasted peanuts and huge backpacks (what do they actually have in there?!).

Here are some snaps I took whilst waiting in South Kensington. There was a little food market, and I love food markets, so hung around there for a while, before checking out a few wedding/bridal shops and the charity shops (which were quite expensive compared to my local charity shops).

My sunday night consisted of about 3 cups of coffee to accompany the long night to follow in order to complete an essay on 'Of Mice And Men', which I left to the last day of half term because, well, doesn't everyone?

Melissa & Aimee Day 6: Brick Lane

Day 6 of our 'Days of fun' series has been in my eyes one of the best so far. Aimee and I spent the day in Brick Lane, it was my first time there, but I'll definately be going back more often, and soon. Although some of the shops and markets were not as cheap as Portobello market or some vintage fairs, we got some pretty awesome bargains and the atmosphere was buzzing and of course the food was fabulous!

My first buy was the gold cross brooch (see photo 3), which I got for £3, and I wore it straight away, as it married with the colour of my cardigan. And becuase I love it so much. Aimee bought the ammmmazing faux fur coat (photo 10) for a super £20! If only you could feel it....it's so so soft. I'm not usually a coat person (I prefer to freeze in the British weather in a cosy cardigan or chunky jumper), but the 2 coats I bought were the best I have ever bought. The first was the huge black mens pea coat with a chunky collar (I wear the collar up to feel powerful...) and the second was the coat above, I think it's sheepskin, and has leather lapels and green velvet pockets! Granted, not as soft and silky as Aimee's faux fur, but I love it anyway. I found it in the last market we visited, which is by FAR the biggest, so we were pretty gutted that we found it towards the end of the day, when we had practically spent all our money...

Lunch was a pad thai for Aimee and a falafel wrap for me, followed by music, courtesy of the awesomely dressed people in the video, looked like they were making a music video...which would be pretty awesome, seeing as Aimee got in the shot a few times...

The last 2 photos were taken in a mirrored window, and it wasn't until we had finished taking them when we realised that people we inside who could see us. Daym.

Fiiinally, I would like to explain the change in layout of my blog. I was messing around with the template, and accidently changed it back to the old one, back to the old template with the blue polkadots...I hated it. So I stayed up trying to get it back, with no luck, so I settled with this one, and although I'm not completely happy with it, I thought a change would be good. What do you think- should I keep it or change it again?

OH and we saw Sandra from 5 inch and up in Absolute Vintage. Highlight of the day.

Day 5: Portobello Market 2.0

GOD DAMN this weekend was a good one. Saturday marked the continuum of the 'Melissa and Aimee's days of fun' series, and we headed out to Portobello Market for a day of vintage shopping, bargain spotting, and...oh yeah, rain. It wasn't heavy rain, but enough for my glasses to steam up whenever we went into a shop, which as you can imagine was a good look for me. That was sarcasm.

Despite the icy conditions, which is expected of London, we soldiered on like true londoners, and although many of the stores were closed because of the weather (especially the ones nearer the end, which are always the best ones), we found some pretty awesome bargains. After lunching on chips, we went to Caffe Nero for a chai latte and a spot of videoing. All with frequent updates on twitter every few minutes, because we totally love twitter.

I'll be posting the next video within a few days of our outing to Brick Lane on sunday, here's a little preview...

DIY: Feathered Ear Cuff

On Sunday I made this feathered earring, partly due to boredom, but mostly because I've always wanted one but never got to making one. It's so simple to make and literally takes about 10 minutes!! Here's how to make one:

You'll need:

- Feathers

- Chains (from necklaces, bracelets etc)

- Plyers

- Jewelery jumprings

- Charms (from necklaces etc)

- Stud earring(s) -If you have your cartilage pierced, you need 2 earrings, if not you can use a plain ear cuff.

1. Attatch a jumpring to both ends of the chain.

2. Add a feather on one end of the chain through the jumpring, and another feather or a charm on the other end of the chain.

3. On the end with the feather, open the jumpring again and loop it through the butterfly of the earring, so they are attatched.

4. On the other end of the chain, either attatch to the other earring if you have your cartilidge pierced, or a cuff.

5. Add more chains, feathers and pretty things onto the chain for decoration!

A few hours after making this, I wore it out to dinner, and it fell off and got crushed, I cried, got home, and made another one. The 'cuff' is actually an old ring that I cut using wire cutters becuase I don't actually have an ear cuff, and as you can imagine, because the edges were razor sharp it hurt like hell when I put it on, but after a while it went numb so I couldn't feel it.

It's the last day of term tomorrow, so I should be posting more regularly from then, I'll be hitting the vintage markets with Aimee, which is gonna be awesome, we'll be going Portobello Market, Camden, Brick Lane and a vintage fair!

With my birthday nearing, naturally, I spent ages making a wishlist of all the pretty things I long to see waiting for me when I turn 16, yes 16!! I've narrowed it down to 3 looks...I've been lusting over those topshop platforms for forever, and to get them would make happier than leprechaun next to a double rainbow, but I doubt that will happen, so for now, I will be happy enough admiring them. Ok thats a lie. I WANT THEM!!

Vintage jacket, primark mens t-shirt, topshop necklace

Firstly, I really love this sheepskin and suede jacket. I think it's either my mum's old one from the loft, or a super find from a market or car boot sale, not quite sure. Either way, I love love love it because it's so soft, and it's also really light, unlike normal sheepskin or suede jackets. It's qute worn out, both inside and out, but it adds to the authenticity of the piece. I added the fringed necklace with just a little safety pin, I wanted to buy another necklace and sew them on both sides of the zip, but I didn't want to make holes in the jacket, because it felt..wrong.

Whats up lovely people? I've been feeling colourful recently, so when I saw this yellow skirt lying around the house, I thought 'YES pink tights!'. And so this little concoction was born. It felt good pulling out this cropped denim jacket and wearing it, it felt like summer, but for the rest of the day I wore a chunky jumper on top to stop me from freezing!

Recently, I've had so much coursework from school and a French exam on the last day of term, so I'm super busy, but I still have some time for blogging, of course. Where to start?! Firstly to state the obvious, this is another beautiful collection by John Galliano, one of my all time favourite designers.What struck me most about this collection was the inspiration taken from René Gruau, whose influence was evident from the hats resembling brush strokes and the play with light and dark, as seen on Karlie Kloss, which I remember from studying René Gruau in art 3 years ago. Oh, and of course the VOLUME is immense! Layers and layers of tulle, asymmetric hemlines, feathers, embellishments, pleats!!

Cinderella, cigarettes and scenes from the past

Hello all you lovely people, those who have visited my blog before (you guys are awesome, electronic hugs from me to you) may recall a little post on my love for weddings, which you can check out here, and may already know that I went to a wedding yesterday! In my eyes, weddings are so beautiful, and it's beyond me how people think they're 'boring', but if there's one thing everyone can agree on, it's probably the beast of a feast at weddings. Unfortunately my sister used up the battery of the camera taking photos of balloons and peoples feet (because that's how 6 year olds take photos), so no food photos, apart from one of the cake, which was nearly as beautiful as the chocolate profiteroles I devoured. (Yay food baby) I'm not afraid to admit that I got a bit emotional at times and let out a little tear, luckily with no one noticing and without smudging my make up, but weddings don't come around that often, and when they do, all my excitement and emotions build up, and I just can't help it...

It goes without saying that my favourite weddings are ones that join 2 different cultures, and this one was exactly that. My cousin was the bride, and we're chinese, from Hong Kong, and the groom's family is Greek. Some of the Greek wedding traditions, especially the dances are so fun; everyone gets into it, from the grandads to the kids, which I loved! There was a dance where the guests pin money to the bride and groom, and another where everyone joins in in a huge circle...super fun.

So, on more fashion-related news, I didn't end up wearing the topshop dress I had bought especially because my mum decided it was too dark for a wedding (I made an effort not to show it to her too early before the wedding as I knew she was say this and make me change it). Instead, after about an hour of going through my wardrobe for forgotten dresses that could be suitable, I found this little gem I bought last year from Traffic People, which was £10 in the sale. Deciding it was too late to change after we thought we might have a spontaneous going-out lunch, I settled with it, and the rest is history.

Ok. So for the part I've been itching to write about. I BOUGHT A CHLOÉ BAG!! Ok, I'm lying, but it felt good saying that. My mum let me borrow her vintage Chloé bag that my uncle bought for her before I was born, I was pretty much smiling and admiring it for the whole day because it's just SO DAMN PRETTY!! Love the little gems she hides in that little wonderland of hers, how that one escaped my clutches so far has escaped me, but I like surprises, and that one was a fabulous one.

I think I've rambled on far too long now, and thank you if you've read this far! I could tell you so many more wonderful things about the wedding and weddings in general, and I can, if you want, but probably not, so au revoir, I'll be posting soon!

Hello all! I woke up at 5.30 this morning because the weather decided to be a bitch and wake me up with a storm, and I couldn't get back to sleep, so I watched Shrek 2 until I fell asleep. Never a bad time to watch Shrek :)

Despite the cold weather, I thought I would wear a relatively summery outfit today. The shirt and skirt are both from Hong Kong, and the H&M wedges are actually a friend's, but they were too small for her so now theyre miiiine :D

In other news, here are some photos of my favourite model ever, Freja Beha Erichsen. She is such a natural beauty, and I love her style and her attitude.

Seven nation army

I wore this last night when I went out for a last minute dinner with the family. I had sushi and seafood, then cherries and profiteroles for dessert. YUM. It was more of a family gathering than a spontaneous dinner out, which is always really lovely because I love seeing family, well most of them. I was a rush getting dressed, so I just chucked on this shirt I bought from Portabello Market for £10 a while back, unfortunately underestimating the coldness outside, and regretted only taking a thin jacket. I really love this shirt, it's so versitile and I luuurve the colour, plus it has mulitple pockets, and who doesn't like pockets?! My bleached bow is from a hairband I got from primark, which I then savagely ripped apart just so I could wear the bow. Who knew so much glue would be used to stick on a little bow? The bandanna got a bit annoying after a while, so I took it off...to reveal a mushroom head/obvious kink around my head. Looked attractive....

I took these photos when I got back, but because it was so dark, I had to use artificial lighting, which isn't as good as natural light of course, so these photos are pretty bad. Apologies. I was pretty tired too, with all the coursework I had yet to do when I got back, but I decided to take photos instead of complete them.

However. I got home to the news that THEWHITE STRIPES HAVE SPLIT UP??!! 'tis bad times. So I decided to dedicate this post to the band, hence the title...

I wore this the other day after coming back from shopping, and just lounging around the house. I bought this jumper back in the summer from a car boot sale for about £4 which I thought was a pretty good bargain, and I love the frogs and squirrels print, and it is so cosy, which I naturally looove.

We're already one month into 2011!! It's crazy to think I've only got a few more months of year 11..I can't wait to finish my GCSEs. I've had this blog for over a year now, and it started off as just a personal diary of my life in during summer '09, but then escalated into a fashion blog, and it's definately helped me find something I really love doing. Before I was interested in fasion, I was a nerdy kid who sloped around in a blue snoopy t-shirt I practically lived in and a pair of faded-due to wear, not intentionally- bootcut jeans, and a blue hoodie with 'Cool Chick' or something else stupid printed on the back...god it nearly kills me to say it. But that's in the past now (thank the lord), and although I'm a little poorer because of buying magazines in bulk and my ever increasing love for a good bargain, I love it. This blog means a lot to me, so thanks to all my followers, YOU GUYS ROCK!

HELLO! I got up super early today to go shopping for a wedding I have next week. It's pretty last minute I know, but I get this weird thrill when I have to rush to buy and outfit in ninja-quick-time. For some reason, when I look for a dress to wear at a wedding, everything black seems to appeal to me, however resisting the temptation of buying one, I opted for a little number from Topshop. It was a pretty minimalist dress, so I decided to buy a statement necklace to dress it up a bit, so I wouldn't look too casual. Speaking of weddings, you may or may not, but probably won't because I haven't told you, know that I love weddings. I sometimes find myself buying wedding magazines, I even bought some at the airport from my last holiday for some reading material on the plane...I have a book of wedding dresses too...

I've been drawing a lot more recently, after the rush of exams I've had lately, although a few of them I was drawing whilst going to sleep and as a result are a bit creased and crinkled on the sides. Just a quick post today, I've got my last exam tomorrow,but it's my last in a long time, so I'm looking forward to finally having a social life again.

In other news, SKINS TONIGHT! How long have I been waiting E4?? HOW LONG?! sdgbvfnkdbkjgnjdbkdjbgut. So excited. Hopefully this new series will be better than the last, no one in the new cast have stood out for me yet, but we'll see.

vintage jumper and badge, H&M skirt, vintage bow tie

I got this bow tie quite a while ago, but never go around to wearing it, so here it is, being worn. I got this vintage jumper at a vintage fair I went to with the fabulous Aimee, which you may or may not remember from this, and I've never worn that either, so this outfit is one of first times...I've never been a big fan of turtlenecks, because I have broad shoulders due to years of swimming when I was younger, so they've never been good for my shape, but I loved the print on this jumper, so I just added the bow tie to draw the attention away from them. Another reason I'm not a big fan of turtlenecks would be how they squash my face and mess up my hair as I put them on...

Although I only have one exam coming up soon, I have so many coursework deadlines to meet, not to even mention the June GCSE exams. It's so crazy to think that I only have a few months of school left. Ever. The thought of leaving school is quite daunting for me, but I'm so excited to start afresh.

Hello again, I haven't posted in so long, mainly because of exams and more exams. As I haven't done a proper one in a long time, I felt that an outfit post was due, so I dug out this vintage skirt I bought forever ago and this vintage blouse from my mum. This skirt is SO FUN to wear, not only to I love the pleats, but it's so swishy, which means me swaying my hips whenever I walk, like Shakira! except not. It's a really deep hue of red, but doesn't really come out in these photos. The badges are 2 of my may favourites; the duck one is from my mum ages ago, and my auntie has one because my mum and auntie apparently had a phase during the 80s/90s where they went shopping a lot and bought a lot of matching clothes in different colours. I have photographic evidence of this. But no, they will not feature on this very blog...fortunately for you, or unfortunately, depending whether or not you care, which I doubt anyone does really...are you still reading this?

I only have one more exam until June- psychology if you're wondering-so hopefully I'll be posting more regularly. Well hello again. It's been about 2 weeks since my last post and I actually made a few posts but never ended up posting them because they've seemed a little...dull.Since this is my first post of the new year, I'll start by saying 'Happy New Year!'. 2010 was a blast, but it's done and dusted now, so BRING ON 2011. I don't make new year resolutions, to me, they're just ways to make you feel bad when you break them, because lets face it, they never stick.

This vintage jacket was bought quite a while back in the summer, it has leather sleeves, which I have never really been a big fan of, but they grew on me. The lapels are a pain though-they stick out awkwardly, so I stuck on some badges from my collection of vintage and charity badges. I found a whole box of them as I was going through some of my mum's old stuff, and from them on I've been collecting a few here and there from charity shops and markets. My favourite is a Looney Tunes Roadrunner pin I never wear in case of losing or damaging it.

On monday I went up London with Aimee, but unfortunately, we both forgot our cameras that day, so no video...don't miss us too much...kidding. ahem.

First stop was Oxford St, which surprisingly for a bank holiday january sales monday, wasn't that much busier than normal, and after was Carnaby St, to the awesome-but-most-were-closed-or-shut-down shops in Kingly Court, semi-stalking a guy but lets not go there, and wandering around until we reached Soho. We went to a vintage magazine shop, where we spent a good hour going through back covers of Vogue from the 40's-noughties, and all the other awesome stuff they had there. A few minutes walk from there was Patisserie Valerie, and a chocolate croissant later, I was cold, so we went to a coffee house to warm up.

Melissa & Aimee Day 4: V&A museum

A little snow and ice is all that's needed to leave me standing on a crowded platform waiting for a train for 16 minutes, but after having arrived at South Kensington station, all was good, and Aimee and I made our way to the V&A museum. After getting a bit lost and a few flights of stairs, we saw a guy walk around in what could only be described as a stripy colourful jester jacket thing, but we soon found the dressing up corner, and I changed my first impression judgement of him. Aimee chose to be a medieval princess with a skirt that weighed a ton, and I decided a puffy shorts and donut shouldered jacket outfit. I have no idea what it’s supposed to be. We rode on the Boris Bikes-well, sat on them- and hung out in a phone box. Cool kids, we are.

Not many people like waking up really early on weekends just to look out their window whilst listening to music and trying to think of what unproductive, pointless thing they could for the rest of the day, but I do. As soon as I saw the snow, I instantly got dressed and went out, then went sledging with a few friends. We had a snowboard too, and being the unexperienced snowboarder, I landed at the bottom of the hill twisted around the snowboard, resulting in rectangular-shaped bruises scored across my elbow and thigh. Nevertheless I carried on sledging cos its so GOD DAMN FUN.

Dec 4th. A few weeks ago I went to the National Portrait Gallery for the Timeless Fashion event, where my cousin's friend showcased a few pieces from her fashion line ROKA. The aftermath of the show resulted in me shivering in my mohair jumper, yearning for that fur gilet. I don't usually go to the National Portrait Gallery-I hate the head statues which face each other that you have to walk through- so I don't really know the place well, but my knowlede goes as far as knowing that they do damn good cheese fritattas. There was also a photoshoot, courtesy of Beyond Retro, hair and make up, customising shirts and a fabulous catwalk finale, and to top it all off, shopping in Oxford Street and trekking back home in the rain. I LOVE LONDON.

There were a few exhibitions, including one of a contemperary footwear and accessory designer (above), whose creations were a brilliant mix of edginess, randomness and unique imagination. I wasn't able to stay for the catwalk there because we got there pretty early, so instead we decided to explore London a little. And by that, I mean walking around aimlessly taking photos of anything I thought looked awesome. Kind of like a tourist. But not. Because I go up London nearly every weekend. I love it there.

We went to Southbank -I really love it there- , then Westminster, where there were street/free runners-not as extreme as jumping from rooftops of buildings, but extreme enough to leave me watching for a good 5 minutes saying 'wow, that's awesome' and 'zomg look at that!'. Me? easily amused? no way..

SO, after a few hours, the weather decided -I personify 'weather' as an excuse not to be blamed for being unprepared for the rain- to suddenly change its mind and not be sunny with the highest of 12, but to instead rain. So thanks weather for cutting my day short, and also for ruining my skirt.

I was pretty soaked and moody when I got home, and ripping my tights on the way in didn't really help either. However, flat hair and a pair of tights down, I came home to see that we had a clear out. And to me that only really means on thing. Ruuuuuummmaaaggggeee through things ;). And that I did.

I found some pretty rad stuff, including my plaster cast 'King Tut' mummy encased in a 'tomb' shoe box I made in year 3 and my dad's bow tie he wore for his wedding (probably will make an appearance in later outfit posts). I also found a load of my mum's old clothes and a vintage Givenchy necklace! *does happy 'Chandler dance'.*

OUT ON THE MAIN STREETS

It's been so long since my last post, and I'm excited to be back to blogging! I thought I might make a special post, including the next video to the 'Melissa + Aimee's day of fun!'

On sunday, Aimee and I trekked to Bethnal Green to check out the affordable vintage fair. We searched through hundreds-ok I exaggerate- lots of racks filled with fur coats, oversized blazers and huge jumpers. It was like Narnia. Kind of. As if if I went throught enough racks, I would find Aslan leading an army of fictional characters into war with the Ice Queen shouting 'For Narnia!' and a horse-man standing by a lampost calling himself Mr Tumnus. Personally, I don't actually really like Narnia, but I do like the idea of having another world on the other side of my wardrobe.

SO, after a few hours of elbow nudging, feeling claustrophobic and beating a lady to a cardigan I never ended up buying, we went to the V&A Museum of Childhood. It may have 'child' in the name, but some of the activities were too complex even for our 2 teenage minds put together. High expectations for child geniuses nowadays jheez.

White Christmases are rare in London, but who needs snow on Christmas Day, when there will be a season of white elegance, from the likes of a laced full dress at Brioni, and numerous collaberations of whites at Alexander Wang and Dolce & Gabbana. The definitive meaning of white has lost it's innocence; thigh-skimming shorts, lace miniskirts and sheer blouses? It's back with a kick.

I haven't posted in soo long- nearly 2 weeks -, so firstly I apologise for that. I thought I would just show you guys some sketches I've been doing lately. I also bought a mannequin in the summer (and had to bring it back on the plane, which was a bitch. It's as if suitcases weren't made to fit a mannequin. I know, crazy right?!), and I've made a few skirts and dresses so far. I've never been good at following sewing patterns, so I've been making them up mostly. :)

I'm aiming to postly daily, or at least every few days, from tomorrow, so posts should be more regular.

This series has been a bit of a let down compared to the 2 last series, but that doesn't stop me watching it, love it love it love it.

Year 11 has officially started, and I thought that the first week would simply be a week of getting back into the swing of things and not really doing anything productive, but I guess I thought wrong. I actually have a french speaking test first thing tomorrow.

The most asked question from the past school week?

"Are those your actual, like, real glasses?"

Umm. no. I'm just having a competition with Harry Potter to see who would look cooler in round glasses.

On the subject of Harry Potter, who's excited for the next film?! It's gonna be amazing! I'm not a big reader, so I haven't read any of the books, but I have tried-I've read some of the first book, but then decided that reading is just a slower version of TV (quote: The Inbetweeners, WHICH I AM ALSO V.V. EXCITED TO SEE THE NEW SERIES OF!!)

Oh yeah.

Gotta love Neil.

Ok now, I have some homework to catch up on...

...to be lying. I'm watching Jedward: Let Loose.

Bonjour and how are you? I got back from Hong Kong yesterday and I start school in a couple of days, and as usual, I am not ready. The 2 8-hour flights and a 4 hour wait in Dubai airport without a wink of sleep was tiring, but my fortune in not getting jetlag and the fact that my body is used to unusual sleeping patterns enabled me to go up to London today :D. Luckily for me, the weather in London was actually warm today so I didn't have to come back from the sun in Hong Kong to the crappy rain I've heard London has been getting.

I had sushi nearly every day (if you think I would have got bored of it, then yow thinkin' wrong) I love sushi, love it.

This dress was so amazing, it was entirely of paper roses. Each rose was as perfectly folded as the next, and the train went on forever!

Haagen Dazs. The next best thing to choclate. and sushi.
